Pilz PILZ-772181 is a Safety I/O unit designed as a configurable safety small digital input expansion unit with a comprehensive range of monitoring functions. These include Safe Speed Monitoring (SSM), Safe Speed Range Monitoring (SSR-M), Safe Direction of Movement Monitoring (SDI-M), Safe Operating Stop Monitoring (SOS-M), Safe Stop 1 Monitoring (SS1-M), Safe Stop 2 Monitoring (SS2-M), Safely Limited Acceleration Monitoring (SLA-M), and Safely Limited Acceleration Range Monitoring (SAR-M). It features potential isolation between sensor and system voltage with functional insulation, rated insulation voltage at 30V, and rated surge voltage at 2500V. The same potential isolation specifications apply between sensor 1 and sensor 2. Designed for DIN rail mounting, it supports both 35mmx7.5mm top hat and 27mm recess width rails. The unit operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +60°C without forced convection and up to +55°C with forced convection in the control cabinet. It has a net height of 101.4 mm, a net width of 22.5 mm, and a net depth of 111 mm. Connection types include plug-in/detachable screw or spring-loaded terminals, and an 8-pin mini-IO female connector for incremental encoder input, accommodating a wide range of wire sizes. The module is IP20 rated, requires a 24Vdc supply voltage from the base unit, and supports a frequency range for input and monitoring without hysteresis. The housing is made from PC material. Power consumption is 3.5 W from the supply via the base module, with a maximum power dissipation/loss of 3.9 W.
